A district athletics day, a club tournament, a city run with several venues. People on the grounds can switch on Festival mode: your venues, what is on now and next, and which finals are decided.
Festival mode belongs to organisations. Most of the work happens in the web console.
Create your organisation in the web console and write to us. Once we have verified it, the events area opens.
Add the event with its start and end, then each place on it, such as the track or the infield, with a name and a colour.
Add each slot with its place and time, and mark which ones are finals. When a final is over, mark it decided and it moves to the front of the medals strip.
Someone on the grounds is offered Festival mode in their feed. They choose it, they can leave any time, and it switches off by itself a while after they leave the area.
Imagine a district athletics day with a track and an infield. A parent arrives at the stadium, opens snakken and taps Festival mode. At the top they see which finals are decided and which are still to come. Below, for the track and for the infield, they see who is on now, or who is up next where it is quiet. When the hurdles final is over, someone in the organising team marks it as decided.
This is an illustration, not a result.
Screens from the iOS app, filled with demo content. The athletics day does not exist.
The grounds, the places and the programme are set up in the web console, by the people in your organisation who plan the event. The app is where visitors see the result.
Some of these may not be available yet. We list them so you know the direction, and we are not putting a date on any of them.
A note to everyone on the grounds, such as a changed start time, and a warning that takes over the screen when it matters.
Scan the code on the poster or at the entrance and Festival mode is on.
Timekeeping and official results stay in the system you use now. snakken shows that a final is decided, not who won.
If you sell tickets, carry on with the shop you use now. Payments are not part of snakken.
You get no names and no positions of the people on the grounds. The phone works out on its own whether it is there.
Organisations. Step 1 above shows how.
Yes. The app offers it when someone is on the grounds, and they choose.
No. It shows which finals are decided and which are still to come. Results stay with you.
In the feed of people in the area around it, and under What's on in the week it happens.
You need one or the other, a place or a group. A market on a square can be a place of its own, and a regular run usually belongs to a group.
No. An I'm in only says someone plans to come, so keep your ticket shop where it is.
We have not settled on pricing, so there is no price list yet. If you are budgeting for a season of events, write and we will tell you what we know.
A few lines are enough: what it is, when and where, and how many people you expect. You hear back what works for your event now and what does not yet.
This opens your mail app. There is no form and no tracking behind it.
